Evening Song is not just a performing choir; they are also a recording choir. In fact, they started as a CD recording project that blossomed into the performing ensemble they are today. ES has released three CDs for purchase so far in its 10 years of existence. Its first CD “I Stand All Amazed” is an inspirational collection of hymn arrangements and original compositions many of which were arranged and composed by Evening Song’s Artistic Director David Featherstone. Their second CD, “On the Way to Bethlehem”, is a compilation of uplifting songs for the Christmas Season. And, thirdly, Evening Song’s 2003 – 2004 seasons were captured on the CD “Nearer My God to Thee”.Evening Song Choir Releases the Long-Awaited CD “Carol Me Sweetly”
For more than a decade the Evening Song choir has delighted audiences across the country and reached out with incredible prose and poetry set to music that speaks to the heart and beyond that to the spirit within us all. From the familiar and traditional to the unique and original, Artistic Director David Featherstone has garnered wide acclaim for his unique signature on each carefully chosen piece of material performed by this small but eloquent choir consiting of approximately 30 voices.
The new compilation, several years in the making, was recorded in Dallas live at Ridgewood Park United Methodist Church from 2003 - 2009 as well as the world-renowned Luminous Sound. Produced by David Featherstone, "Carol Me Sweetly" was engineered by Grammy-nominated recording engineer/producer Chris Bell (The Eagles, Erykah Badu).
