The Evening Song Board voted and passed by a majority vote to change the Fundraising Chairman to the Executive Board position of Vice President Fundraising.  Evening Song has many plans for our 2009 - 2010 performance season and beyond, which includes eight performances for our Christmas season, a ticketed concert in the spring, a patron member appreciation reception, a tour in San Diego Summer of 2010, yearly CD recordings of our work and a professional recording of David Featherstone’s “Testament” in the next two years.  

The conception of an Annual Fund has been a long time coming with the greater number of opportunities that have been presented to Evening Song.  Yearly budgets have been put in place to help us pay for the necessities to execute our many performances and recordings.

Evening Song needs help from a volunteer that may be called and have the time to help us meet our budget each year and to fill our Annual Fund so that Evening Song can carry out it’s mission “To Uplift Through the Spirit and the Art of Excellent Choral Music.”

Some of the duties would include heading a committee in executing the Annual Fund Drive, help organize the Patron member appreciation reception, help the Grant writers collect information for our grant applications and seek sponsorships and donations from outside sources.

This Position needs to be filled immediately.  If you feel a call or would like to help and have the time and willingness to lead in this VERY important committee, please contact me.  I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

It is time to elect new members to the Evening Song Board and Committees and we would like to extend the invitation not only to our current members, but also to our patrons, families and past members who may not have the time to commit to a weekly rehearsal, but would like to volunteer and share their business talents and gifts to help with the organization of our choir.  If you have been looking for an organization to volunteer your time and talents and can commit to one or two meetings a month, we would love your help.

Board Member Terms are 2 year terms and Committee Chair and Sub-committees are a 1 year term.  The following are all the positions available and discriptions of what the positions require.  Board meets at least 2 times a month and Committee and Sub-Committees meet about once a month.  Please prayerfully consider what business talents you may have or what you can do to take part in the success of Evening Song.

·         Oversee a sub-committee comprising of 2-3 ES members

Section Leaders (report to VP-Membership)

·         Comprises one ES member from each section

·         Responsible for sectional rehearsals

·         Section attendance records

·         Policy enforcement/first-line resolution of member issues

Wardrobe Coordinators (reports to VP-Membership)

·         New member outfitting

·         Maintenance of choir-owned accessories

Assistant to the Director (reports to Artistic Director)

·         Final selection of members

·         Rehearsal and performance direction in the absence of the AD
