"Evening Song’s choral sound is distinctly pure. Intonation and diction are unified in such a way that the sound leaps into the room. Choral enthusiasts are so unused to this attention to detail that it takes the listener by surprise. Add to the mix a broad palette of choral styles, and an evening with Evening Song is an evening to treasure.” --Rev Nicki Lyford, Minister of Music and Worship, Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.

Calling all Evening Song Singers Past and Present

Hello all current and past members of Evening Song,

In case you hadn't heard, Krista Oakes passed away yesterday morning from major blood clots in her lungs which were a complication of her battling brain cancer these past 5 years. As singing in choirs and music were so important to Krista, and since she was such an integral part of Evening Song for so many years, we have been asked to sing at her service. It will take place this Thursday, December 16, at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints <http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=&daddr=2401+Legacy+Drive,+Plano,+TX&hl=en&geocode=&mra=ls&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=35.768112,79.013672&ie=UTF8&ll=33.07759,-96.737022&spn=0.036967,0.077162&amp> in Plano on Legacy (2401 Legacy Drive). Click on the link to pull up Google Maps and input your starting location for a map to the building.

We will be singing "How Lovely is Thy Dwelling-place" from Brahm's Requiem. We are going to have a rehearsal at the aformentioned building this Monday night, December 13th at 7:00pm. Please email Stephanie Nguyen at stephaniewnguyen@gmail.com with your name and voice part if you are going to be able to sing with us. It is very important that you RSVP so that we can make sure we have enough music and we can do our best to balance the parts.

Krista loved this song, and I know she will be singing along with the Heavenly choir of angels she has joined. We love and will miss her dearly.

Thank you for your timely response,
Stephanie
